Artemama derives from the name Pachamama, referring to the Andean mythological figure. Pachamama is the earth mother who manifests as the female spirit of the mountains, rocks and plains. The Andean people honor her by placing a large stone in the field to keep it fertile and ensure a good crop. Emmanuel C. Montoya, artist and muralist, came up with the name. The name Artemama for us reflects our commitment to nurture creative people and help them ensure that a good "crop" will grow from their creative works.
